Why Pay Insurance?

We, like many other businesses, often assume insurance is an annoying expense, but in October 2016 we arrived at work to a burst water pipe upstairs.

We walked into work on a Thursday morning in early October to find the ceiling, together with lights, on the floor and five large machines covered in ceiling tiles and water not to mention lost stock too.  It took 3 weeks to dry out the floor and all five machines were condemned

Pyke, Smith and Cutler, our insurance brokers, certainly made sure we were covered for all eventualities.  We were covered for all our contents including machines and stock as well as business interruption insurance.   Not only does Philippa Cutler call in once a year to make sure we are properly covered (making sure we are adequately covered but not over insured) but held our hand through the whole claiming process, from dealing with loss adjusters right up to receiving funds, making the whole process easier, for which we thank her.

We are grateful that we didn’t skimp on the insurance cover we took out as it could have meant the end of Braunston Ltd.  We have had to replace five machines plus stock and the whole work area has been redecorated with new ceiling tiles and carpet.

Our thanks go to Campbells of Daventry , DWD Repairs,  Mr.Electric,  Ceiling Specialist Ltd, Buckingham Flooring Ltd and all who helped us clear up and move machines or furniture.
